MS Research

The National MS Society invests nearly $50 million annually to support more than 440 new and ongoing MS research projects as part of its international effort to prevent, treat, and cure MS. The Society's cumulative investment in research totals about $686 million.  Significant advances have been made in both clinical and laboratory studies of MS. In addition, 130 clinical trials are ongoing, planned, or recently completed, and bring new hope for oral drugs, alleviating symptoms, and finding better options for those with progressive MS.
